What is Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a science based approach to assessing and treating the body as a whole. Through thorough assessment and various treatment methods, physiotherapy aims to restore optimal movement patterns and postures, improve joint mobility and strength and can help with many injuries, illnesses and medical conditions.
Our experienced Physiotherapists are fully registered with the Health and Care Professions (HCPC), are chartered members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), are members of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) and are accredited members of the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI).
We run our Physiotherapy services from our modern clinic room and rehabilitation gym. We allow up to one hour for physiotherapy sessions and at your first session, your physiotherapist will ask you to talk through your specific condition, your past medical history, any symptoms you may be experiencing and any goals you may have. You will also be asked about any medications you are currently taking, so you may wish to bring a list with you if you take a few.
After we have the full background of your condition, you will have a physical assessment. This assessment will vary depending on where your problem is being experienced and from the information you have given in the first part of the session. After we have confirmed the problem, we will discuss this with you and give you the opportunity to ask as many questions as you like. We will then discuss a treatment plan (if required) and begin your first treatment.
